Cash Deposits

IMPORTANT

  • We use your meter number to automatically associate your payment to your meter account.
  • When making cash deposit payment your meter number must therefore be used as your “reference” on the cash deposit form.
  • If the reference is incorrect or omitted we will be unable to automatically associate your payment to your meter account. You will then not be able to vend in order to obtain a credit token without contacting our Technical Support Help Desk.

 

WARNING

When an incorrect reference is provided and it happens to match a meter on our system other than the one intended, there can be no reversal or refund of the transaction. This works exactly the same as prepaid airtime, if you buy airtime for the wrong number it is irreversible.

 

Requirements for using the bank channel:

  • Get to a bank teller in any bank in South Africa
  • Your meter number
  • Banking details as below detailed in this page
  • A mobile phone to send an SMS (unless autovend is enabled, which means you will receive the token automatically)

 

Steps to follow when using the Cash Deposit Method:

1. At the bank teller complete the cash deposit form

2. Ensure that your meter number is the reference number

   a. Double check the reference number is correct before you give the cashier the form back

3. Once you paid the cash deposit your prepaid funds will reflect as follows:

   a. Bank-to-bank = 5 to 30 minute wait

   b. Bank-to-other-bank = 76 hours

4. The funds will then be placed into your wallet through our system

5. This is why it is important to use the correct meter number as reference

    a.If you have auto vend enabled then you will get an sms automatically to the number you have defined

6. If autovend is not enabled then you will need to create an SMS to 31696

    a. Enter the instructions according to the SMS SYNTAX

    -> { Pin*MeterNumber*Amount ( Pin = Last four digits of your Meter Number)  }

   b. Wait for an SMS response

   c. Input your token received

Deposits must be greater than R101 for your deposit to automatically reflect on your wallet the same day. Deposits equal to R100 or less will only reflect on the next business day
